On the ferry!

We made it to the ferry! I was able to hang out on the back of the bike while tutu navigator pulled five bags the bike to the ferry. Now I am going to go outside and see if I can see some whales or maybe other puffin friends. Sorry no pictures for this tale but maybe in a few days. I've got along ride tomorrow to barachois provincial park so you might not hear another tale for a few days. Well off to see the water!

Fredericton - Grand Lake and now leaving for Sydney

Finally I get to tell you some tales!...the Tutu Navigator has let me write a bit now. We had a long car ride but I got to have some treats and play games in the car. Daun and her friends, Heather and Francine have been so good to me. When we arrived at Grand Lake just outside of Fredericton, Anita and Dave welcomed us and this morning we got to meet George and Irene (these are family members of the Tutu Navigator's husband, Travis). We got to sleep on beds! Anyway, I have to get my car wings ready for my next car trip to Sydney, another 7 hours of being cooped up but maybe I'll get to eat some more treats!

Packing up and heading out

Pretty much packed up and ready to head out tomorrow.

We will be taking 2 days to drive to get to Sydney, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia then cycle about 25 kms to the ferry in North Sydney. First stop on the drive will be Fredericton, New Brunswick and then Sydney, Nova Scotia, Puffy's home town! Maybe we'll have a chance to see the "Wolrd's Largest Fiddle"? The ferry to Newfoundland will take about 5-6 hours so it will be a long few days ahead until we can get on the bikes. Until then, Puffy is going to relax and soak up the beautiful landscapes of Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia!

Thank you

Thank you to Merriam Print for donating 50 cards to the ride. Now Puffy will be able to share Phoebe's story with more people. Also, one of my colleagues from last year made the first donation (and I wasn't even on planning on getting many donations) so a huge thank you!

Less than one week to go!

Puffy has arrived!

Puffy has finally arrived in Ottawa after a long trip from Sydney, Cape Breton, NS! He was so excited to get some real training under his belt so I, the Tutu Bicycle Navigator, took Puffy on a 42 km ride and a 100 km ride this past weekend. Puffy also had some time to reflect about this big journey that lies ahead of him.

Stay tuned for Puffy to start blogging in the next couple of weeks! Until then, check out the photos of Puffy during our rides this weekend.

Spreading the word through Manor Park Community

This week my article about the ride was published in the Manor Park Chronicle. Many of my students recognized me in the photo, they also noticed my "tutu". I hope all the children will continue to get excited for me as my start date gets closer! On another note, Puffy (my fearless Puffin stuffy) will be arriving next week from Cape Breton with a friend of mine. I am so excited for Puffy to meet the Tutu Bicycle. They both have lots of work to do before the big trip!
